Loyal, loving and full of life. I’m so glad you stopped by to learn more about me and my work.
Baby country Krista saved all her money for years, and when her sister was buying her first boom box, instead Krista was headed to Sam’s Club to buy an Olympus E-Volt 500. Did she know how to use the dang thing? Absolutely NOT. But, she played with the dials, read everything she could and threw herself into it head first. Did she stand in bushes to practice photographing the fast moving wings of a hummingbird? Did she talk classmates into letting her take their senior pictures? Did she take photography as a project to the local county fair? YOU BET YA! She was too young and naïve to know how to do anything but jump head first into something that gave her joy.
During the day, I teach special education to Kindergarten through 5th grade students. Although I love my students, teaching, and advocating for equality, I found myself out of balance without the creative outlet of photography. In 2016 two mentor teachers encouraged me to pick back up the hobby that had once meant so much to me, and my photography business has continued to develop and grow since that day.
I’m about as normal as they come. I love Jesus, but cuss a little. I strive for better health and a holistic approach to life, but you may catch me sneaking a McDonald’s fry. I’m usually barefoot and listening to music entirely too loudly. I’m the girl who can easily find something in common with anyone. Let’s see what we can connect over while I capture you and your family.

Long gone are the days of department store family photos. Sayonara! There is one goal I aim to fulfill; original images that accurately depict your family and the season you are in. Whether that be a season of soft gentle baby snuggles, or capturing the unbridled fire in your teens eyes, I want to pause a moment in time for you to come back and revisit years later when you are missing the babies you once held.
So how do I do that?
Together, we will capture who your family inherently is. Throughout your session I will give you informal prompts or guidance that will allow you to snuggle, play and show your true colors. I want the camera to capture who you are WITHOUT me being present, so my goal is to keep you engaged with one another more than you are engaged with me. Your gallery will showcase the family as a whole, individual interactions, small details, and just a few of those “must-have” family poses as the cherry on top.
